Saturday is a huge day for sports bettors, as a full slate of NCAA, NBA, and NHL games take place, along with two NFL playoff games. There should be more than enough to keep any sports bettor busy.

Currently, the majority of sports services (two-thirds) are on the New England Patriots, while the Packers have been getting the nod in the NFL game, although by a lesser margin. The Patriots' margin isn't quite enough to make them a go-against team just yet, but I'll keep tabs as other service plays trickle in. There have been five services that I've seen using Green Bay as some type of Game of the Year, while two are backing Seattle under the same premise.

Washington State has been a popular service play, but again, probably not quite enough to make UCLA a play, although the margin on WSU is enough to keep me away from backing them. St. Mary's is another team that is right on the verge on being a go-against team, as they have been a popular sports service release. If several more services get behind St. Mary's we'll have a play. It is a late game, so it's quite possible.

Those who wagered on last night's free pick got to experience the highs and lows of sports betting several times during the game. After a slow start, the Cavaliers took a seven-point halftime lead, only to stink things up in the third quarter, getting outscored 26-11. The Cavs chipped away at the Charlotte lead to tie the score and send it to overtime. In the second overtime, the Cavs took a 113-103 lead with 29 seconds remaining, only to have Gerald Wallace hit a 3-pointer with 17 seconds left to make it a 113-106 score and the Cavs dribbled out the clock, costing us a loss by a half-point or a point.

I'll be back at least once throughout the day as sports service reports come filtering in, as well as line movements and betting trends emerge, so check back in during the day. There probably will be at least one additional free pick, as well.

Today's free pick for early action is in college basketball and can be found at Free Sports Betting Picks in the Sports Gambing 101 section of the site.
