Tiger Looks to Complete Miracle Comeback

Monday June 16, 2008
Golf moves to the forefront of the betting world today, as Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate have an 18-hole playoff to determine the winner of the U.S. Open. Woods forced the playoff with an improbable birdie on the final hole during Sunday's play.

The oddsmakers know that Woods is a huge fan favorite, so those who want to wager on Tiger are being asked to lay more than 3-to-1 odds. Olympic has Woods -340, meaning bettors will risk $340 to win $100, while those who want to wager on Mediate will receive $280 for every $100 wagered should Rocco pull off the upset. There are also different proposition wagers that bettors can make on the final round, such as the number of strokes both golfers will need to complete the round. The over/under on Woods is 71.5 strokes, with bettors being able to wager over or under that number, while the number of Mediate is 74.5 strokes.

Today's play on the main site is in the U.S. Open and is Free Sports Betting Picks located in the Sports Gambling 101 section of the site.
