The New York Giants will be out to prove last season was no fluke, as the begin the 2008 NFL season with a home game against longtime foe Washington. The Giants weren't given much of a chance to win the Super Bowl last season and aren't getting too much respect from oddsmakers to repeat, as New York is in the 20-1 to 25-1 odds range, with Dallas, Minnesota, and New Orleans generally the top three choices.

The Redskins will be out to erase the sting last season's early playoff exit out and there would be no better way that to upset the defending Super Bowl champions. Jim Zorn will be coaching his first game, but the longtime quarterback and assistant coach is no stranger to the sidelines.

The public has been betting the Giants pretty heavily, as the game has moved from New York -3.5 to New York -4.5 and the total has climbed one point to 41.
