After last week, during which I was still working on the NFL football system plays on Sunday, I wanted to get a bit of an earlier start, so all the system predictions for Week 3 action in the NFL are posted in the forum, along with a recap of how each one has done on the season. Several are doing poorly so far, but as I always make it a habit of reminding bettors, football systems that are based solely on statistics do not take injuries, retirement, trades, etc., into consideration.
A number of the losses could simply have been eliminated by passing games where there were quarterback changes due to injury (New England, Baltimore) or numerous injuries to a team at the wide receiver position (Seattle, Cincinnati). Much of this will disappear after the fourth week, which is when all of the games will be predicted using nothing but 2008 stats.
There is also a new system posted in the forum, which is another Yards Per Point based system, but one that takes turnovers into consideration, as well. While using it after just two games have been played is a bit risky, due to the small sample size, that is the way the method has been used in the past with a fair amount of success. We will also track the Dudley System after five weeks of action and see how that system stacks up this year.
