Betting the 2008 World Series

Wednesday October 22, 2008
The World Series is much like the Super Bowl in some aspects in that a number of people who don't risk any money during baseball's regular season or playoffs, will now have some type of financial interest in the outcome of the games. This can take on many forms, ranging from office pools, friendly wagers with friends, family, or coworkers, to betting with a bookie or through a sportsbook.

Tampa Bay has made the favorite to win the 2008 World Series, as the Rays have home-field advantage, where they have been exceptionally strong this season. While many people predicted Tampa Bay to fall apart during the season, the Rays have turned into a bit of a Cinderella team and are probably the sentimental favorite for a number of people.

The Phillies didn't reach the World Series by accident, however, and the boys from the City of Brotherly Love aren't likely to go down without a fight.

We'll look at the different betting opportunities available for the 2008 World Series in Betting the 2008 World Series in the Baseball Betting section of the site.
