Huge Day of Sports

Saturday October 25, 2008
Today is shaping up as a huge day for sports bettors, who should have no trouble finding plenty of wagering opportunities. Not only is there Game 3 of the World Series; a full slate of college football games, including several marquee games such as Ohio State vs. Penn St.; but there's also 15 NHL games; and the Breeder's Cup, which along with the Kentucky Derby, are the usual two times sports bettors make the foray into the world of thoroughbred racing.

Those seeking a bit more information about the Breeder's Cup should visit About.com's Horse Racing Site.
Tampa Bay is a slight favorite in the World Series today, both in Game 3 and to win the series. The Rays are -115 to win today, as well as to take the best-of-7 game series after evening things up on Thursday. The total for today's game was wavered between 9 and 9.5, and you can find both out there, so don't be afraid to shop for the best line you can find if you have any preference on the total.

Some of the biggest line movements in college football have been Missouri, which opened as 21-point favorites and are now at 24.5; Kansas, which opened as 1-point underdogs to Texas Tech and are now -1.5; the total in the Texas game has dropped from 71 to 67.5; Miami, Ohio has went from -8 to -5 against Kent; Fresno has dropped from 17.5-point favorites to 14.5-point favorites over Utah State; and Cincinnati is now a 2.5-point favorite after opening as a 1.5-point underdog.

The most popular betting plays in terms of money wagered so far are Nebraska, Tulsa, Ball State, Northwestern, Oklahoma, and Central Michigan. New Mexico State, Cincinnati and Alabama are close behind.

An early look at NHL betting shows money coming in on the New Jersey Devils and Florida Panthers.

Today's plays will be up by 11:30 a,m. EST and can be found at Free Sports Betting Picks located in the Sports Gambling 101 section of the site.
