Regular readers of this site know my feelings on the difference between betting for fun and betting for profit. The two are entirely different animals and bettors need to ask themselves which category they want to be in. If a person is betting for entertainment purposes, there's nothing wrong with making a wager on all of the televised games. A person trying to show a profit, can do no such thing.
Tonight's GMAC Bowl is a perfect example, as you have two high-powered offenses in what should be an entertaining shootout. It should be an entertaining game to watch, but is it really worth betting on?
High winds and possible thunderstorms are forecast for the area and while it looks as though they are likely to appear towards the very end of the game, do you really want to have a bet determined by Mother Nature?
While I leaned to the over, the weather uncertainty is enough to keep me away.
Instead, we'll go to college basketball and look at the game between Northern Iowa and Creighton, which is a contest without a whole lot of fanfare, but one I hope offers better wagering value than the football game.
