One of the things that separates the Super Bowl from a regular season NFL game when it comes to gambling is that sports bettors aren't necessarily stuck with one point spread. The majority of online sportsbooks and Nevada bookmakers create a number of different point spreads for people to wager against. These are called alternative point spreads.
Bettors can choose to take Arizona +14.5 points or even Pittsburgh +10.5 points, but there is a cost, in that bettors are asked to risk a much higher amount than the traditional $11 to win $10.
But on the other side of the equation, bettors can also win much more than the traditional amount by taking Pittsburgh -14.5 points or Arizona +3.5 points instead.
