Phil Steele's 2009 College Football Preview
Football fans know that it's getting closer to the start of the new season by the number of football magazines they'll see on the supermarket shelves or in bookstores. As the season draws nearer, the number of magazines also will increase, making it a difficult decision for football fans which magazines are the best to buy.
College football fans have it a bit easier, however, as there is one preview magazine that has historically been the best and things haven't changed one bit for the upcoming 2009 season. That magazine has been Phil Steele's College Football Preview and this year's version is as good as ever.
Steele bills the magazine as "The book the experts cannot do without" and I believe you'd have to agree with him.

Any insights on the merger or Street & Smith with Sporting News? How does it compare with Phil Steele (which is how I found you)? Do you reccommend any internet spots that take Western Union?
Phil Steele ranks UCLA #24 and Notre Dame at #7, 4 Big-10 teams in the top 25, which isn’t even mathematically possible. Based on his top 40, he’s a know nothing. I’d publish a real top 40, but I wouldn’t want to ruin the season for everyone, although it doesn’t take a genius to know that UCLA is not a top 25 team, they will be LUCKY to finish September with a .500 record!! I’d buy the magazine just to get a good laugh in January 2010, but I think I’ll be all laughed out watching Notre Dame and UCLA getting their butts kicked all year long… again.
Just saw your preseason top 25 and Oregon isn’t on your list at all? Forgot and now you’ve dug your heels in huh? Oregon is in the top 15 and as high as 7th in all of the the other major polls. What gives? Wait…I know…you hate nike or you hate the uniforms. Either way, you’ve lost some credibility here!
I was a bit surprised to see Phil didn’t have the Ducks in his Top 50, let alone the Top 25. I guess we’ll see.
This is the best comprehensive information source of college football I have ever seen in over 30 years of gamb…..ooops research.
