So it might be a bit much to refer to today as Football Eve, but in reality there will probably be more bettors making wagers on tomorrow's Hall of Fame Game than there will be placing bets on The Boys of Summer today. That's not necessarily a bad thing, however, as the oddsmakers will begin to give more attention to football, which could make for some off lines in baseball.
There are a few good pitching match-ups today, with Millwood and Weaver probably the best of the bunch.
Looking at the umpire front, there are under umpires working in Houston, Colorado, Detroit and Kansas City, while the Pirates have the lone over umpire calling balls and strikes.
