The New Year's Day college football bowl games have lost a bit of their luster thanks to the BCS playing games throughout the following week, but that doesn't mean there aren't several good match-ups on today's schedule. The Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl are always big games, while LSU vs. Penn State is another.
Then, of course, there is the final game of Florida State coach Bobby Bowden's illustrious career, as his Seminoles face West Virginia. The day will get started with Auburn and Northwestern.
We were definitely snake-bitten in this spot yesterday, going 2-3, with all three losses games we could very well have won. But those days happen to the best of us, and hopefully we'll bounce back and catch a few of the breaks ourselves this time.
