Many sports bettors will venture over to horse racing today, as the 136th running of the Kentucky Derby takes place. The weather is still a bit of a question mark at this time.
For a number of years the Derby favorite failed to get the job done and as a result, there has been a bit of value with the morning-line favorites the past few years. Lookin at Lucky could fall into this category depending on what the final odds are.
The race figures to shape up as a speed duel out front, which could very well set things up for one of the stretch runners.
Still, the Derby is usually one of the toughest races to handicap, as last year's winner Mine That Bird proves. The 50-to-1 Derby longshot has not won a race since winning the Run For the Roses, although he did place in the top three in the other Triple Crown races last year.
Elsewhere, bettors have the start of the Celtics vs. Cavs series to look forward to, along with the beginning of two series in the NHL.
