A number of ranked teams will be in action today, although many of them are playing weak sacrificial lambs to open the season. A team like Nebraska can offer Western Kentucky a huge payday in exchange for getting thumped in front of the Cornhuskers' faithful, which is why there are so many early season mismatches.
One game that had good potential was LSU and North Carolina, but the Tar Heels have numerous suspensions, and as a result the line has shot up to LSU -9.5 or 10.
The betting public is backing the big name teams, such as Oklahoma, Oregon, Wisconsin and Texas today, as each has more than 80 percent of the wagers.
Florida has moved from a 33.5-point favorite to 38, Texas went from -27 to -31, Oklahoma moved from 29-point favorites to 34 and Georgia, Clemson and Nebraska have also seen the odds move several points in their direction.
