Far too many bettors look at winning percentage as the ultimate factor when it comes to sports betting. Sure, a high winning percentage is nice, but it really doesn't tell you too much, especially when taking baseball and hockey wagers into consideration.

A lower winning percentage while playing a larger number of games can also prove to be more profitable over the course of a season.

The main way to rate any handicapper is what is known as units won or lost, which is another way of saying money won or lost.
