Animal Kingdom and Dialed In are the two co-favorites after the early betting for today's Preakness, while Mucho Macho Man is the third choice at 6-1. The odds will change leading up to post time, but the early indications are bettors will receive more generous odds than the early 2-to-1 on Animal Kingdom.
Track conditions should be fine for the race, which will be run at a faster pace than the Kentucky Derby. There are a number of horses which didn't run in the Kentucky Derby entered in the Preakness and the newcomers have won three times since 2000. Several of the newcomers can definitely be big players in this race.
