The Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat will begin the NBA Finals tonight and the Heat are the favorites, but the Mavericks have been getting plenty of support. At The Greek, the Heat dropped from -180 favorites to -170 to win the series.
Miami is favored by 4.5 points in tonight's opener and the total is 187. As of early Tuesday morning, Dallas is attracting 57 percent of the wagers in the game, while bettors are taking the over at a 75 percent clip. I'd expect both of those numbers to move closer to the 50-percent mark throughout the day.
The storyline in the series is the Big 3 of Miami going up against the team of Maverick veterans, several of whom could very well be looking at their final opportunity to win an NBA championship before riding off into the sunset.
