Hawaii Under Fire

The University of Hawaii finds itself the subject of an NCAA investigation into fixing games after the school notified the Honolulu Police Department of an anonymous letter claiming unnamed players were throwing games. If the claims are true, Hawaii players didn't just shave points, they purposely lost games.

Getting anonymous letters claiming a game was fixed isn't all that unusual when a school doesn't cover the spread because of a fluke play or a bad play by the team, which makes you wonder why Hawaii acted on this one. Did it come from somebody with inside knowledge or did it come from a disgruntled bettor or somebody with an axe to grind?

We'll look at several of the games in question and see if the evidence points to fixing.
