Readers have asked for some sort of method for handicapping NHL games for a while, so here is an attempt. It shares some characteristics as systems that we've used in other sports, but has a few different wrinkles due to the nature of hockey.

The method behind the process makes sense, but as we all know too well, what should make sense in sports betting often isn't the case. If it was, everybody would win big on a consistent basis.
