Now that the football season is over, it's time to start looking ahead to the longest season of them all, Major League Baseball. Teams haven't finished making all of their roster moves, so there aren't too many wagers that are on the board yet. But odds to win the World Series is one of them, with others, such as team wins, head-to-head match-ups, most likely coming out in March.

As a general rule, those liking the extreme longshots are better off playing at Intertops, while Bodog offers a number of the favorites at slightly better prices, especially teams like the Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers, although those believing the off-season moves the Toronto Blue Jays made will lead them to the promised land, will no doubt like the 9-to-1 odds at Intertops compared to the 7-to-1 being offered by Bodog.

Those really liking a particular team are often better off by wagering early, as many sportsbooks will reduce the odds on a team when they receive wagers on them, but they do not raise the odds of the other teams, so you're more likely to get the best odds if you bet early, as opposed to waiting until a day or two before the season starts.

Of course, the one drawback to wagering early is that many teams will make moves which could help them, or in the case of the Miami Marlins, hurt them quite a bit, and there are usually one or two spring training injuries that can also have an effect on a team.
