Fezzik Wins Las Vegas Hilton SuperContest
Las Vegas-based professional sports bettor Steve Fezzik rallied on the final day to win his second straight Las Vegas Hilton SuperContest. Fezzik, a 45-year-old former insurance executive turned sports bettor, entered the final day of the contest trailing a contestant using the name Big E by a half-game.Fezzik went 3-1 in the early games, leaving Tennessee as his lone selection in the afternoon games, while Big E was 1-1, with Arizona, Kansas City and Seattle as his selections for the late games. Kansas City easily covered, but Arizona was blown out by Green Bay.
The contest line was Tennessee -4 and Titans' touchdown with 4:23 remaining in the game gave Tennessee a 17-13 lead. Seattle drove down to the Tennessee 27, but turned the ball over, allowing Fezzik to win the contest by a half-game. His victory was worth $196,800.
Fezzik finished the tournament with a 53-29-3 record.
