The Border War
Few regular season college football games in recent memory have had the buildup of tonight's meeting between Kansas and Missouri. The game is being played at Arrowhead Stadium, which is a neutral site, although Kansas is technically the home team.
Kansas has literally been money in the bank this season, going an amazing 10-0 against the point spread, while Missouri is a stellar 8-2 against the line for the season.
Missouri has played the tougher schedule of the two teams, which is one reason why Kansas has put up the better defensive numbers, allowing 14.2 points and 300 yards per game, compared to Missouris 23 points and 380 yards per game.
Offensively, both teams can put points on the scoreboard with ease, as Kansas averages 45.8 points per game and the Tigers average 42.5 points each contest. Quarterbacks Chase Daniel and Todd Reesing have both thrown for 30 touchdowns this season, but have to believe Mizzous Daniel gets a slight nod for having more experience in big games.
The Jayhawks are seeking to avenge last year's 42-17 thumping at the hand of the Tigers and are 8-1 in their last nine conference revenge games.
The initial reaction here would be to wager on the under, for the reason that there are likely to be some jitters and nerves in regards to playing in such a marquee contest, but it's worth noting the Tigers are the only team in the country to have scored at least 30 points in every game this season.
The early money on Saturday has been coming in on Missouri and the under, as the point spread has moved to Kansas - 1.5 and the total has dropped from 68 to 67.5.
There are better wagering opportunities out there today, but for sheer excitement, this is the game to watch.
