Super Bowl Team Proposition Bets

By Allen Moody, About.com

Super Bowl Team Proposition Bets

The Super Bowl is slowly approaching and sports bettors will have the opportunity to place wagers on everything from the coin toss to what the final song Tom Petty will perform during the halftime show. You can also wager if Jordin Sparks will take over 1:42 to sing the National Anthem or not.

The Super Bowl is truly a bettor's dream, as they are no longer confined to placing wagers against the point spread or on the total, but can choose from literally hundreds of different proposition bets. The one drawback is that many of the wagers require the bettor to risk $115 to win $100, as opposed to the traditional $110 to win $100.

Those not familiar with sports betting and the money line, may want to read Understanding Money Lines before reading on, so that you will have a better understanding of how these proposition wagers work.

NOTE: This article deals with the different team proposition wagers that are available. A separate article looking at the different player proposition bets can be found here.

Before we analyze some of the possible wagers, let's look over a number of the different proposition bets that are available and their odds from Bodog as of 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25:
