Anybody getting ready to place a wager on a sporting event should know what the correct odds are and Scores and Odds does as good of a job as anybody out there giving updated line information. The best part is it's absolutely free, unlike other line services that have a monthly charge.

There's much more to the site than just offering point spreads, scores, and odds, however, and we'll look at several of the additional features.

Scores

Naturally, with a name like Scores and Odds, you know that there will be scoring updates throughout the games. They may not be the fastest of all the different sites that report scores, but they are pretty good about getting scoring changes up in a fairly quick manner. Still, this is likely the weakest point of the site, at least for those bettors who have to know what's going on every second of the contest.

Odds

Scores and Odds provides one of the best free line services around and does an excellent job keeping lines for various games up to date. The line is generally extremely sharp and accurate.

One of the nicest features about Scores and Odds is the color-coded highlight that shows when the odds on a game have recently changed. It makes tracking line moves a simple and painless process.

Knowing the correct odds is especially important for those who wager through local bookmakers instead of going through an online sportsbook. Many locals are known to shade the line towards favorites or underdogs and an informed bettor may be able to exploit those lines to their advantage.

Free Match Ups

Another positive feature of the site is the free handicapping information on each game, which can be found on the "Free Match Ups" link underneath every game. There is an "Advanced Match Up" link available for a fee, but for most bettors, the free material will be sufficient for handicapping purposes.

Bettors will also find links to other material, such as "Betting Trends," where they can see who the public is betting on at an affiliate sportsbook.

Scores and Odds is a solid place to view lines and the free match up information makes the site one every sports gambler should visit on a daily basis.
