Novice and veteran sports bettors are sure to find plenty of helpful information at theSpread.com. Everything from odds, match-up information, public betting numbers, a daily newsletter, AccuScore, forums, free picks, sports wire feeds, stats, and a whole lot more, which we'll discuss momentarily. In fact, there's so much information, it would be impossible to mention everything here. Your best bet is to visit the site yourself and see what it has to offer.

Public Betting Numbers

As readers of this site know, I'm a firm believer in going against the public as often as possible, and theSpread.com makes it extremely easy to do just that with their Top Public Betting Numbers For Today list.

Using information from another of my favorite websites, Sports Insights, The Spread offers a list of the 10 teams receiving the highest betting percentages each day. What's nice from a bettor's standpoint, is that all sports are included, and a quick glance will tell you which teams the public are backing.

Michael Seaton, General Manager of Spread Media, said the feedback from bettors is that the public numbers are more often than not best used to go against when dealing with football and basketball, the two sports that receive a large number of bets from the general public.

Baseball bettors have had some success in following the betting numbers, due to the fact that a larger percentage of money comes from professional bettors, as opposed to the general public.

Hilton Contest Consensus

Football bettors are sure to enjoy the consensus picks from the Hilton NFL Handicapping Contest. Considered to be the most prestigious of all the football contests, the Hilton Contest attracts a large number of serious football bettors, and the top five consensus selections are posted on a regular basis, along with the number of contestants who are backing each team.

AccuScore

AccuScore is a computer simulation that plays each game 10,000 times and gives the probability of each team winning the game. Any time an underdog is given a 50-percent or better chance of winning a game, it's probably worth a serious look.

AccuScore is used by ESPN and is worth taking a look at.

NASCAR

NASCAR bettors are sure to love theSpread.com and the section devoted to NASCAR wagering, which includes odds on the different series, driver information and a whole lot more.

Futures odds are included and knowledgeable NASCAR fans might find a wager or two that suit their fancy.
