Money Line

By Allen Moody, About.com

Definition: In the sports gambling world, the "money line" is used for betting on the winner of a contest where the point spread cannot be used, such as boxing, or is not used, with the bettor needing only to pick the winner, regardless of margin.
Also Known As: Moneyline
Examples: Because Bob did not want to bet the Vikings -10 points, he placed a wager on them using the money line and only needed them to win the game.
