Off the Board

By Allen Moody, About.com

Definition: In the sports gambling world, "off the board" refers to a game that no wagers are being accepted on. Many times this is only temporary, while rumors or weather conditions are checked out.
Examples: When rumor began to circulate that the starting quarterback was not going to play, the game was temporarily taken off the board until the rumor could be verified.
