2008 Las Vegas Bowl Preview
The Las Vegas Bowl promises to be one of the more entertaining early bowl games, as BYU faces Arizona in what will be surprisingly cold Las Vegas weather. Game time temperature is expected to be in the mid-30s.
The Wildcats are favored by 3.5 points and the total is at 59.5. With BYU being ranked No. 17 some people will automatically play on Arizona due to the unranked favorite over the ranked team angle, although that typically works better in basketball.
Both teams can move the ball and put points points on the scoreboard, which is what I expect will happen here, as neither team has a particularly strong defense, both allowing 21 points per game, while each was able to face several inept offensives while compiling those numbers.
Arizona's Nic Grigsby and BYU's Harvey Unga are both big time running backs and somewhat negate each other, and while Arizona's Tuitama is a good quarterback, I'd much rather have my money in the hands of BYU's Max Hall, who threw for nearly 3,700 yards and 34 touchdowns this season.
In a game that could go either way, taking the underdog is usually the way to go.
3* BYU +3.5
3* Over 59.5
