This was my first look at the Statfox Edge football annual and I have to say that I'm extremely impressed. This is one football annual that will get plenty of use during the season and is something every football handicapper should own.
College Football
Statfox has predictions for all conferences and then a team page for each school, which is filled with trends, stats/rankings, and four years worth of logs, including totals.
Trend players will enjoy the individual trends and notes for each game, along with the Statfox Power Trends, which show how teams do in certain situations, either good or bad. Totals are included in the Power Trends.
There also is information on returning starters, the type of offense and defense each team runs and a situational breakdown detailing how each team has performed as a favorite or underdog, in conference games and out-of-conference games, and more.
NFL Football
The NFL section has plenty of the same features as the college section, although eight years of logs are given and there are plenty of statistics and rankings from last year. The situational records also cover eight years, as opposed to the four covered in the college section. Each team's odds to win the conference title and Super Bowl are also listed.
Trends and Angles
There is some great information regarding trends, both team specific and league wide. A great article on looking for edges in NFL betting is included, as well as several solid articles on college football, such as how teams perform with new quarterbacks and coaches.
Another nice feature for trend players is the Top Weekly Head-to-Head Football Trends section, which list the games with the top angles each week. Instead of having to go through each team page on a weekly basis, players can find the top trends of the week, in both college and pro football, in one section.
Summary
As one who recommends the Statfox website to plenty of bettors on a regular basis, I'll admit to having some high expectations for this annual. But after reading through the annual for a few days it's safe to say that Statfox not only met my expectations, but exceeded them quite well.
