  • Take a team that plays two straight home games and lost the first game, if they are an underdog the second game (22-6-4)
  • Take New England as a favorite against Buffalo (11-3-0)
  • Take Atlanta on the road in November (11-3-1)
  • Take Baltimore as a favorite in November (11-3-2)
  • Play against Seattle as a favorite in October (11-3-0)
  • Play against St. Louis as an underdog in December (11-3-1)
  • Take Minnesota on the road versus Green Bay (7-2-0)
  • Take Indianapolis as an underdog in November (7-2-0)
  • Play against San Francisco as a favorite in November (7-2-1)
  • Take Buffalo as an underdog against New York Jets (7-2-0)
  • Play against a team that has had at least 400 yards total offense the last two weeks and they face a team with a defense that has allowed 200 yards or less total defense the last two games (21-6-1)
  • Play against the New York Jets as an underdog in September (10-3-1)
  • Play against Oakland on the road in December (13-4-0)
  • Take a team that lost by 14 or more points as a favorite last week, and is an underdog this week (6-2-0)
  • Play against Dallas as a favorite in December (10-4-2)
  • Play against Oakland as an underdog in December (18-6-0)
  • Take Green Bay away at Chicago (6-2-0)
  • Take Minnesota as an underdog against Green Bay (9-3-0)
  • Play against Chicago in January (6-2-0)
  • Take Carolina as an underdog against Tampa Bay (6-2-0)
  • Play against Cleveland at home in December (12-4-0)
  • Take Tampa Bay as a favorite against Atlanta (6-2-0)
  • Take Houston at home in December (12-4-0)
  • Take a home team that has replaced all three top coaching jobs (head coach, Off. Coordinator, Def. Coordinator) the first six weeks of the season (105-42-6)
  • Take New Orleans as a favorite on artificial surface (10-4-2)
  • Play against Oakland in December (26-11-0)
  • Play against teams who are favored that had a five turnover advantage and covered in their last game (68.3%)

It will be interesting to see how these trends fare during the 2009 season, but those of you who like to factor in trends when making your selections now have plenty of ammunition for your wagering arsenal.
