Odds to Win Super Bowl XLV

Professional sports bettor Mark Franco is no stranger to readers of this site. He has given us a nice profit in each of the last two Super Bowls. So when he offered to write about the NFL for us this season, it was an easy decision to make.

In Franco's first article on the 2010 NFL season, he looks at several futures bets for winning Super Bowl XLV.

Heading into the 2010 NFL season there are most likely about 10 teams that have a chance to win Super Bowl XLV in Dallas come February. This summer I've spent some time around town at the sportsbooks and have seen a number of good props to bet into.

Here I will share with you my top two teams along with a long shot. Have fun with your football wagering this season and visit Franco Sports for free winners during the season.

Dallas Cowboys at 9-to-1 Odds

Dallas comes into the season as one of the top teams in the NFC and finally ended their playoff drought with a win vs. the Eagles last season. The Cowboys have had the talent to compete for a Super Bowl run over the last few years but have faded late in the season until last year winning two games in December one which was at New Orleans.

Last year they were ranked in the top 10 in both offense and defense and I don't see that changing this season. If QB Tony Romo stays healthy and Wade Phillips does a good job coaching them up the Cowboys could win the title in Dallas.

Minnesota Vikings at 10-to-1 Odds

The offseason story with the Vikings has been QB Brett Favre and would he play another year. Now that we know he will be at the controls I feel that Minnesota is clearly one of the best teams in the NFC.

This team has all the pieces to win a championship with a very solid line on both offense and defense along with one of the best running backs in Adrian Peterson. If it was not for turnovers down in New Orleans in the NFC title game last season the Vikings would have been going to the Super Bowl.

Miami Dolphins at 35-to-1 Odds

This is the third year of the Dolphins new regime with Bill Parcells, Jeff Ireland and head coach Tony Sparano and I think they have something to prove. Last season, the Dolphins ran the ball nearly 32 times a game, finishing fourth in the league in total rushing but did not make the playoffs.

This season look for the Dolphins to open up the offense more with QB Chad Henne showing great promise a season ago along with superstar receiver Brandon Marshall who comes over from Denver. The Dolphins weakness last season was their defense and they have addressed that in a big way with the draft and signing LB Karlos Dansby.

Add in the hire of one of the better offensive coordinator in the league in Mike Nolan and Miami is my long shot to win the Super Bowl.
