Sportsbook.com Making Positive Strides?

April 23, 2009

When it comes to online sportsbooks, sportsbook.com is the equivalent of the New York Yankees. Sportsbook.com is loved or hated by numerous online sports bettors, but through an aggressive advertising campaign, has been one of the largest online sportsbooks around.

Those who love the company enjoy the wide variety of bets available, the number of promotions, as well as the easy-to-use software sportsbook.com employs. The company also has one of the best deposit acceptance rates with credit cards in the industry.

Those who dabble in the casino can simply login and wager on sports or casino games without having to transfer funds back and forth between accounts.

Those who dislike the company have one primary gripe, which is the company's notorious payment processor delays.

With U.S. laws making it more difficult for sports bettors and sportsbooks to transfer funds back and forth, those who play at sportsbook.com have seen the results firsthand, as stories of payment delays lasting months were common.

The good news there regarding payouts is that players did get paid eventually, although the majority of players would eventually lose the money they had requested in a payout with all the delays.

Sportsbook.com appears to have processor delays straightened out now, as I've heard from several reliable sources that withdraw funds were received within a week of the request.

This could be great news for sportsbook.com players and a good sign for online sports bettors everywhere. If sportsbook.com is able to continue making payments in a timely manner, other online sportsbooks will have to try and keep pace.

While I have been among sportsbook.com's critics, this latest news is certainly a good thing and something we'll continue to follow.

If you have had any recent transactions with sportsbook.com let me know how they went and we'll monitor the situation. If the processor problem is resolved, we'll report that. If the company falls back into lengthy delays, that will be mentioned, as well.
