Big Dogs in the Preseason
So far this preseason we've looked at how NFL Preseason Home Underdogs perform and we've also looked at NFL Coaches in the Preseason, but we do have one more quick, simple system to look at.This one also involves underdogs and it's about as simple as you can get.
Take any preseason underdog of six or more points. That's it.
Over the past eight years underdogs of six or more points have gone a stellar 26-13 against the point spread, including 4-2 in 2010.
There have been four instances where the underdog was at home and they have covered three times. The lone exception was last year's game where the New York Giants (+6) lost to Pittsburgh 24-17.
These large underdogs have also performed fairly well straight up, going 16-22-1, which could be worth a small play on the moneyline, as you'll be taking +200 or better each time.
