Stat Attack Sports produces a complete line of handicapping software for football, basketball and baseball, along with a football newsletter and thoroughbred betting program. We'll look at the 2011 baseball program, including the new Stat Attack Gold version of the program, in this review.

Stat Attack Baseball Program for 2011

You can specify the starting pitcher for one, or both teams, and other factors, such as home/away, vs. right-handed pitchers or left-handed pitchers, as an underdog or favorite, games where the total is in certain ranges, and plenty more.

If you want to know how the Los Angeles Dodgers have performed as a road underdog against left-handed pitchers with Craig Billingsley on the mound, Stat Attack will tell you.

The searches you can perform are almost endless. If you want to know how the Yankees perform as a large home favorite when they start a left-handed pitcher, Stat Attack Baseball will quickly let you know.

Naturally, the more common searches of how a pitcher has performed against a certain team or how a particular team does against right-handed starters or left-handed starters are a breeze, as well.

Not only do you see the results when you do a search, you also get the number of times the games went over or under the total, as well as the average runs for and against in that situation.

There are two major upgrades to the basic Stat Attack program for 2011. The first is the pitcher search box. Instead of having to scroll completely through a list of all pitchers, which could be time consuming if you were looking up a Randy Wolf or a Chris Young.

The second upgrade comes in the instructions. While users of previous Stat Attack programs will have no problem picking things right up, newcomers to the program may have some questions and the folks at Stat Attack have done their best to answer them before they are asked and to give some pointers on using the software.

Stat Attack Gold

If there was one thing that people could change about the Stat Attack line of programs was that they did not use statistics from the current season. That's going to change with the release of Stat Attack Gold, which allows users to download current statistics on a weekly basis. The 2011 Baseball program is the first product that will have a Gold version available. The next football and basketball releases will also have a regular version and a Gold version available.

The Gold version of the baseball program will allow users to do all of the searches that are available with the regular version, but also take into consideration what is happening with the current year.

The current season feature is a huge step forward and opens a whole new avenues of possibilities for the use of Stat Attack programs. It's exciting to think of some of the different uses of the program.

TRSG

Every year I review the Stat Attack programs I always mention that one of the beautiful things about the Stat Attack baseball program is that it gives you a team's record when a particular pitcher is starting.

Anybody who reads this site on a regular basis knows that I firmly believe the most important pitching statistic is Team Record in Games Started, or TRGS .

Too many bettors base their wagers on a starting pitcher's win-loss record without bothering to realize that our bets aren't determined only in games where the starting pitcher gets a decision. Our wagers also count in games when our starter gets a no decision, which makes TRGS a much more accurate stat when evaluating how a starting pitcher has performed.

Both versions of Stat Attack will automatically calculate the TRGS for any pitcher, which earns Stat Attack Sports huge props in my opinion.

Support

Even with the upgraded instructions with the new Stat Attack baseball programs, you will still get the best computer software support around, bar none. No company does its best to ensure a positive user experience than Stat Attack.

For questions or comments you can use e-mail, but you can also call (479) 750-0817 and speak to an actual person, something you will not get from every handicapping program you buy.
