It's been two years since we last looked at the Stat Attack college basketball program and the new version of the program has a significant number of upgrades from the last time we looked into it. One of the biggest changes is the addition of the Gold version of the program, which allows users to download the current year's results so they will be included in the reports. Stat Attack will also sell its regular version.
Stat Attack Programs
Anybody who has followed the site for any length of time knows that I am a firm believer in the Stat Attack programs as being a valuable tool to help anyone their handicapping process. Stat Attack sells programs for
Major League Baseball, NCAA Football, NFL Football, and also have programs for the NBA and preseason football.
Unlike many sports handicapping programs, Stat Attack does not tell you to bet on Team A or Team B. Instead, it allows the user to sort through various trends and find those they find meaningful, whether it's individual team trends, conference-wide trends or even trends involving all NCAA basketball teams.
Many of the systems I write about were discovered using Stat Attack programs.
What's New for 2011?
You can still do all of the searches you could with older versions of the program, such as search to see how a particular team does in certain situations, such as being a home underdog, away favorite, conference or non-conference favorite or underdog and a whole lot more. But with the 2011-12 version of the program you can also add in factors such as team ranking, time zone of games, elevation of games and the number of days in between games.
You can also do searches for particular dates and see a list of all games played on that day and when March Madness rolls around, you can also do searches for particular seeds to see if a No. 11 seed is really a good bet against a No. 5 seed or check to see how lower seeds have fared against higher seeds when they are favored.
The possibilities are seemingly endless and Stat Attack gives you a complete database of games going back to the 1997-98 season, which is pretty amazing considering the number of teams who have lines posted on them in college basketball.
What's the Same for 2011?
All of the great features from earlier versions are again included in the new version of Stat Attack College Basketball, such as the ability to save searches, search for teams by their first letter (which is a real time saver), the ability to search by particular pointspreads (such as large or small favorite or an underdog of 3 to 5.5 points) and by total, such as totals between 130 and 134.5 points.
If there was a feature in the older version that you particularly liked, you'll be able to find it in the new version of the program.
Support
You can't write about Stat Attack programs without mentioning product support, as you won't find any better. The people at Stat Attack want to make sure your experience with their programs is a positive one.
For questions or comments you can use e-mail, but you can also call (479) 750-0817 and speak to an actual person, something you will not get from every handicapping program you buy.
