Stat Attack For the NFL 2011
With the program, bettors can quickly find out how particular teams, conferences, coordinators and coaches do in certain situations, such as when they are a home underdog, off a bye week, as a small road favorite, and many more. The coordinator aspect is one that remains relatively untapped, but offers some great potential.
Another nice aspect of the program is that you can get a look at game statistics for every game played the last 25 years. The recap shows rushing and passing yardage, turnovers, time of possession, weather, starting quarterbacks, offensive and defensive coordinators and more. Again, this is one aspect of the program that is easy to overlook, but can prove valuable to bettors, especially those wanting to know if the final score was a bit misleading, due to turnovers, poor weather, etc.
As I've mentioned before, there is no "correct" way of using any of the Stat Attack programs. It's up to the individual user to decide which trends and angles are of importance, but Stat Attack makes it easy and gives plenty of options.
The Week After Feature
This feature gives bettors the ability to look at team-specific trends, division trends, conference trends or league-wide trends.
Bettors can decide to look at such factors as days since the last game, turnover margin, time of possession, playing surface, passing or rushing yards and total yards.
Not only can you check a particular team or a team in a particular situation, but you can can also check the results when a team's opponent is off a particular occurrence. An example would be that home underdogs are just 4-11 against the spread the past five years when facing a team was out-gained by more than 201 yards in its previous game.
The possibilities here are numerous, as I'm sure you'll agree.
How To Use the Program
To me, that's the real beauty of the programs, as either trend-based handicappers or situational handicappers will find them invaluable. Some bettors place more emphasis on team-specific trends than others, while some, such as myself, give more weight to league-wide developments. But the fact that both types of handicappers will find what they're looking for is a real credit to the program.
To get you started, the folks at Stat Attack have come out with a paper titled Helpful Hints for Stat Attack Football 2011-12 which will give you a few pointers and will leave you wanting to know more.
Stat Attack Gold
The Gold version of the NFL program will allow users to do all of the searches that are available with the regular version, but also take into consideration what is happening with the current year.
The current season feature is a huge step forward and opens a whole new avenues of possibilities for the use of Stat Attack programs. It's exciting to think of some of the different uses of the program.
