Free Sports Betting Pick for Late Monday

Monday January 21, 2008
Sunday was a great day for the sportsbooks, as both the Patriots and the Packers failed to cover the point spread. A number of teasers also fell by the wayside as the Packers lost the game outright, as many people had teased them down to -1 or -2 points.

The New England Patriots are solid 12-point favorites over the New York Giants in the Super Bowl, with the over/under holding pretty steady at 53.5. The Patriots opened as 13.5-point favorites and the total was at 55 before the lines changed as players started placing their wagers. The propositions for the Super Bowl should be released in a day or two and we'll look at those closely, as many times there are several solid wagering opportunities to be found.

It's been a little frustrating on my end, as the free picks went into a tailspin, which was finally snapped by this afternoon's winner on the Trail Blazers game over the total, but the games mentioned on the blog did pretty well, and hopefully kept several of you off of New England or Green Bay on Sunday and pointed you to several winners in college basketball.

With both underdogs covering on Synday, it also clinched another winning season for our NFL system of wagering on the lower-seeded teams, as they have gone either 6-4 or 6-3-1, depending on your line in the Pittsburgh vs. Jacksonville game. Naturally, the system play would be on the Giants in the Super Bowl.

Not much to report in the way of line movement or sports services today, as there is a fairly light card. The total in the Pepperdine game has dropped three points, making it the biggest NCAA move of the day, while the total in the Lakers game has climbed three points.

Today's late free pick is in the NBA and can be found at Free Sports Betting Picks in the Sports Gambing 101 section of the site.
