Being on the cover of the Madden NFL video game has been a mixed blessing in the past - so much so that one online sportsbook is offering odds on what will happen to this year's cover star, Cleveland's Peyton Hillis.
Sports Interaction is offering odds whether Hillis starts every game or not or how he will do in the rushing department against another former Madden cover player, Michael Vick.
You can also wager on the number of touchdowns and rushing and receiving yards Hillis will finish the season with.
"Every year we try to do something different for the NFL season," says Frank Doyle, a spokesman for Sports Interaction. "And this side bet is another example of that. People enjoy playing Madden, they're fascinated by the curse and betting is meant to be about fun. Why not post odds on the Madden Curse?"
