Super Bowl XLVII Prop BetsTop Ten Direct from Las Vegas
By Mark Franco
Total gross passing yards by Joe Flacco:
OVER 247.5 -110 (at Las Vegas Hilton)
Joe Flacco is having a very solid playoffs up to this point as he is averaging 284.3 yards per game in his three postseason starts. He has thrown for 240 yards vs. the Patriots, 331 yards vs. the Broncos and 282 yards vs. the Colts when the Ravens didn't need to throw the ball. He also has eight touchdowns and zero interceptions. The Ravens will be relying on Flacco's big arm to get the ball down field in this game and this number is just too low.
Will either team score in the first 6.5 minutes of the game?
NO -110 (at Las Vegas Hilton)
I look for both coaches to start the game out on the conservative side with both teams getting a feel for each other. While I like lots of passing and scoring in the game I feel both game plans will be geared to run the ball early in the game and that will eat up clock.
Shortest touchdown of the game?
OVER 1.5 YARDS (+120)
I like playing this prop every year as the only way to lose is if one team scores a one yard touchdown. We don't want to see a pass interference call at the goal line or in the end zone or this bet is toast.
Largest lead of the game by either team:
UNDER 14 (EVEN)
I see solid value in this prop being at even money as I don't see either team pulling away at any point of the game by more than two touchdowns. We have seen many blowouts in past Super Bowls but I don't see that playing out here with two even teams.
First score of the game will be
ANY OTHER SCORE (+140)
This bet is simply as we need any other score besides a touchdown to be the first score of the game. I like either team to score a field goal first in the game and getting plus 140 is a nice price.
Will the game be decided by exactly three points?
I am expecting a very close game throughout and I am getting good value with this prop, being as high as plus 350. While it might be somewhat of a long shot to have the game land on three, I'm taking a shot.
Total touchdowns by both teams:
OVER 5.5 (+105)
I'm looking for several big plays by both teams and I like the game to go over the total of 47.5 so this one makes sense. Both teams have had no problem getting in the end zone in the playoffs and that will not change here in the dome on a fast carpet in New Orleans. I feel both teams should have at least three touchdowns each.
Will the game be tied after 0-0?
You have to like this prop at plus money with two teams that are very comparable. I see the game being tied at some point if not more than once. I'm looking for this one to cash in the first half.
Receptions by Torrey Smith
OVER 3 (-115)(at William Hill)
While I don't lay to lay juice when betting Super Bowl props this one is well worth laying at just minus 115. I see Falcco getting the ball to Smith on several plays and he should have at least four receptions in the game.
Total points scored by Ravens
Over 21.5 (-130)(at Station Casinos)
This game plays out to me with the Ravens being able to score at least 24 points if not more. The Ravens just have too many weapons with Joe Falcco and company for them not to.
