Football Betting - Monday Night Football Home Underdogs

The Monday Night Football home underdog system has been around for a number of years. Since the inception of MNF back in 1970, home underdogs have covered the point spread more than 60-percent of the time.

The oddsmakers eventually caught on to the trend and there is no longer the same value in betting the home underdogs on Monday night. After going a sparking 110-56 against the point spread between 1970 and 2000, the Monday night home underdogs have been hovering in the 50-percent range, and were just 7-9 against the spread between 2004 and 2006.

Home underdogs on Monday night are no longer the consistent money maker they once were and MNF football games should be handicapped as any other contest. If your handicapping points to the Monday night home underdog, by all means wager on them, but you no longer have to be afraid to wager on the Monday night road favorites.
